Print-Ready Artwork Checklist

Before uploading your artwork, run through this quick print-ready checklist. Getting these basics right helps us process your order smoothly and achieve the best possible printed result.

Print-ready artwork checklist

• File: Supply a print-ready PDF wherever possible.
• Size: Set the document to the correct finished size.
• Bleed: Add 3mm bleed on every edge for standard trimmed print where the design runs to the edge.
• Colour: Set artwork to CMYK rather than RGB where possible.
• Resolution: Use high-resolution images, normally 300dpi at the size they will be printed.
• Fonts: Embed fonts in the PDF or convert them to outlines where appropriate.
• Safe area: Keep important text, logos and other essential elements away from the trim edge.
• Pages: Check that all pages are present and in the correct order for multi-page documents.

Bleed, trim and safe area

Bleed extends beyond the finished edge and is trimmed away. Extending backgrounds and images into this area helps prevent unwanted white edges after trimming.

The trim line is the intended finished edge of the product. The safe area is the space inside that edge where important content should sit so it isn't too close to the cut.

Before you upload

Open your final PDF and check it carefully. Look for missing images, unexpected colour changes, spelling errors, incorrect page order and anything sitting too close to the edge.
